Subject: Dropping the rear-hard to do? IP: Logged
Message: I will be dropping my truck soon, and wondered how hard the rear is to do. I will be going with the 4" replacement leafs from Belltech. Are they hard to install, what tools will I need, and should I use a lift or is it something I can do in my garage? Also how hard is it to replace the rear shocks? Is there anything I should know about doing that, and how hard is it to do? I ask this cause I want to do as little as possible at the shop.

Message: it is easy just put the rear on jack stands, lift your jack high enough so it supports the rear end, cut off the U-bolts(don't waste time undoing them because you should use new ones anyway). When they are off, lift the rear end so that the springs are not under stress and remove. The shocks are easier with the jack let the rear end down until the shock are fully extended, undo the bolts are swap the shocks
