Message: Yeah I think :) The guy at the Boyds store told me I needed 6.5in of backspacing for my drop that I am planning. Does that sound correct. He told me that it would cost me extra :( to make the rims with that backspacing.

Message: I boyds are 6.25 backspacing which is what you need if you ever plan on "tucking" It didnt cost extra for me. I dont see why it would since every rims is made to order and the only diifference would be to weld the center in at a different backspacing.

Message: Rob is right. It shouldnt cost extra if your getting it straight from the company itself. But they usually sell their rims for an arm and a leg anyway. When you get rims through wholesalers, you get the rims in the offset or backspacing that the original OEM dakota wheels have (So I am told). For people like me who cant afford those 3,500 rims and tires, I go for the rims that will just actually fit. and then when I get the money i'll worry about tucking. So bottemline, if you want them to "tuck" get them str8 from the manufacturer, if you want them to just fit (which is usually hard to find dakota rims to fit) then get them cheap from a distributer or wholesaler. The choice is yours. Hope this helps.

Message: If you want a wheel that will tuck, give Alba a try. They will drill all of their front wheel drive wheels for our trucks in either a +42 or +45mm offset.
