Subject: Lowering the rear IP: Logged
Message: I have a 4x4, i would like to look into lowering the back end so that the truck sits more even, i dont do any 4 wheeling (except in snow). What kit do i need, is this a do it yourself project? can i still carry things in the back (i never have carried anything big exept a fridge). Will this be notiiced by passers by? How far do i need to lower it? Thanks for the help!

Message: you could use a 2" block which would make it sit level. it might be visible depending on where you look at it. this would only cost like $25. and really easy to do(could be done in about 30 mins.)
www.sporttruckdirect.com
make sure you get the angled blocks to reduce driveline vibration.

Message: Is the axle tube on the 4x4 above or below the leaf springs? If the axle is below the spring you would not be able to use blocks to lower it.

Message: but a flip kit lowers about 5-6 inches, and there is no way i can uncrank my torsion bars enough, (I don't think)without losing too much ride quality, to match the big drop in the rear. I want more of a 2-3 inch drop.
