I have a 2001 R/T ext. cab with a 2/3" DJM drop kit w/ control arms in the front and hangers and blocks in the back and stock shocks. I have very bad tire rub when i go over big bumps (ie. the tire comes up and smacks the underside of the wheel well on the front 2 tires) Will new toxic shocks help the rub problem? If not what will?

Hey brett..i have the same kit on my 99 sport cc...i did use the toxic shocks..and im pretty happy with them..i still notice very lil tire rub..like maybe a slight dip in the highway..i believe that you should change the shocks when you lower something anyways....(i may be wrong though)....any pics???

Lower-profile tires help as well.

You need GOOD shocks that are valved correctly and have the right length travel for a lowered truck. I have a 99 cc sport with Belltech 2/3 drop and Nitro Active shocks at all 4 corners and sway bars front/rear. The thing turns like crazy, unbelievable that a truck can handle like that. I drive fast and have zero bottoming or rubbing problems. I had Toxic shocks but did not care for their action, they were not stiff enough for me. With the Toxics I did have some bottoming.

JUST SOME FREINDLY ADVISE. 1 DO NOT GET TOXIC CRAPS THEY ARE JUST THAT CRAP. IF YOU WANT SOME GOOD AFORDABLE ADJ SHOCKS GET SOME PRO-SHOCKS STREET STOCK SHOCKS. THEY ARE 3 WAY ADJ AND AROUND $60 A PIECE. GO TO A ROUNDY ROUND SHOP AND ASK FOR 70-70 CHEVELLE SHOCKS. THE REASON IS BECAUSE IF YOUR TRUCK IS NOT LWRD MORE THEN 3 FRONT 5 REAR, THEY ARE A PERFECT FIT. EVEN THE MOUNTING STYLE IS THE SAME AS YOUR TRUCK. I HAD SOME ON MY DAK AND LIKED THEM 100%
