Subject: trans cooler install IP: Logged
Message: I am installing a aftermarket tranny cooler on my '00 Ex Cab 4.7L 4x4 Dakota. My qeustion is which hose is the return line? I haven't pulled down the splash guard yet to mess with them, but they look to be hydralic hose. I know the kit I bought says I have to cut the return hose and install the fittings so it diverts the fluid to the new cooler, then to the tranny. If there is a way to identify them visually with cutting anything, I'd like to know.
Thanks!

Message: I instaled an universal aftermarket cooler on my 99 5.2. You dont need to cut any lines, they already have connectors that you undo and hook the new cooler lines into, all the threads match up and its a piece of cake. I used mine inconjunction with the stock cooler line that goes through the rad. Pulled my enclosed trailer many miles with no probs. My cooler is non directional for flow so it doesn't matter wich lines got hooked up to wich end. If I recall the line conectors are located under or around the middle of the bottom of the rad you will need to remove the splash cover to get at them. Hope this helps.
