You guys are way too good. Did I make it that obvious? Wayne, you hit the nail on the head. Its pronounced Rick-a-witz. The H is silent, just one of those things I gotta deal with being half Polish and my dad being responsible for it. Actually Blizzard wins the new car and million bux. I got another server a few days ago and its been running since so I can assume that it is configured properly. A few gigs isnt all true. The hard drive is only 540MB, 200 of which is available in the home directory for websites. One pop email account with each account on the new machine. Unfortunately, since space is limited and bandwidth isnt cheap, I will be asking for a minimum $10 donation per month for this feature. Blizzard, if you want to be the first to sign up, you would have not only Blizzard@dodgedakotas.com but also a website at blizzard.dodgedakotas.com completely banner and popup free, unlike geocities. Uploading the files will be just as easy as opening a browser and dragging them in. I didn't expect this all so soon otherwise I would have had all the details written up already. Its just one of those ideas that make to mind at 5am on a thursday night. err friday morning.
Anyone who would like to get the full detail when they are available can subscribe to the Member Hosting list.
Mike: Wireless gateway would be incredible. I don't know much about setting one up though. Do you have any info? if so please email me.
Dak 2: The site has been on its own server since about 8:00 on December 31, 2000 and couldn't be running better! =)

I'm willing to help you out with some of the expenses if possible. I'm not rich or anything but have some money and if you give me an idea of what equipment you're looking for (I know nothing about servers - are they just regular PC's), I might be able to help you out there also.

I know the company I work for sells used PCs (usually P-166 or better) at our salvage shop. Pretty sure they have 2 gig hard drives, most of 'em. They go for around $75 - $150, but I've got the inside track and can probably scrape one up pretty cheap.

Yes, just regular PC's. Anything anyone can help out with would be great. There are about 1000 people that come to this site daily and let me tell you, thats some army if we all work together! Some equipment would be any computers or parts with intel based chips such as pentium, amd, etc. Even a UPS battery pack. They keep the servers, routers, and other equipment running even with a power failure, which has actually happened a few times. It was funny seeing the LED's all blinking from the traffic when there were no other lights on in the whole city. NJ is so overpopulated that the electric power service here isnt all that great. Nothing like california has recently though. Donations would also help greatly. Wayne called in this morning with one and I would like to thank him again. My first suggestion would be to get a real server or build one! At least a PIII or Athlon, 128-256 megs of RAM, 20 Gig HD, etc...!

98SPRTV6: They can get expensive. The 486 may be replaced soon though. The main webserver is currently a 600MHz Athlon with 256MB RAM with 20GB 7200 RPM IDE HDD. That is the tallest one second from the left. The Blue one is an AMD K6-2 500MHz with 128MB RAM and 30GB HDD, and the one on the far right is a 200MHz Pentium with 128MB RAM + 3.2GB HDD

There is no way into the main server from outside. Extreme security. One way to help out a great deal would be with donations. One more donation came in this morning from Travis Painter. There will be a page with a complete list of all the sponsors soon.
