Message: It depends on your driving. If you drive mostly highway, then you will probably lose mileage due to turning 150 or so more rpms at highway speeds. However, if you city drive more, you could gain mileage considering the higher rpms allow you to get into the next gear a little more often. It takes some training though. Since I swapped to 3.92's, I have trained myself to start in 2nd gear any time I am at a slight downhill incline. This was a waste before with 3.55's, it required too much clutch slippage. Another thing I have always done in my manual vehicles is kinda cool. My wife says I am the master of the rolling stop. I try not to downshift for braking unless its a must, to avoid accelerated clutch component wear. However, at a stop sign,I downshift to 1st just before stopping, let out the clutch and brake my rpms down to about 500. Only the more astute patrol officer would notice this is not actually a stop! I have found that since I changed to 3.92's, I can do this in 2nd. I know, it all sounds over the edge, but when you love driving as much as I do, it's fun to experiment.

Message: I'm guessing that the 2mpg gain from 3.55's to 3.92's is a fluke. I'll bet there is something else at work there.
I have an '03, 4x4, SLT+, CC, 3.92 LSD.
My around town milage is about 12.5 to 13 mpg.

Message: Hey guys...I've been pricing a new qc and hope one of you can help. The customer preferred package 26C shows a dealer invoice price of $1720 on the paper from the dealer. I see it online at $1324. The rest of the options seemed priced right. Are the 4.7 and 5 spd auto included in the price of this package or do I have to add them also? Man you gotta watch these car dealers and double check every number.

Message: Rockgod,
I went to the Dodge site and did a build your own which I took to the dealer. That way I had some numbers as well as a list of what I wanted to order for my new Dakota Sport Plus.
