Subject: exhaust manifolds and headers, info IP: Logged
Message: ok,me and my friend are having an arguement about what stock cars have, exhast manifolds or headers, im saying exhast manifold and he says headers. ive called around and everyone i have asked said that they come with the exhaust manifolds. he swears they dont cause you cant get aftermarket exhaust manifolds but you can get headers. help me out, i know you guys know your stuff.

Message: if you are talking about dodge trucks, tell your friend to put the crack pipe down. they are called exhaust manifolds...if he dosent beleve you, tell him to pick up a chrystler service manual, and see what the manufactor calls them.
lay them next to a real header, and the differance is obvious
BUT, if he is compairing them to something else, like a LS1 engine, the stock manifolds look like headers (they are tubular as opposed to something that looks like it came off of a 1800's stove), and some might call them a factory header.
