ok guys i think ive finally founf a set of tires and rims that are pretty nice looking and not too expensive...now the problem...being a young and inexperienced sport truck owner...i really dont know what the first two numbers of the tire sizes mean...im getting 17X8 rims with 305/60VR17 tires...so exactly what does the 305 and the 60 mean and am i going to have any problem with height or width if i get this package??thanks for your help...

those are not to bad. they will be a little taller than your stock tires and also wider, but i'm not to sure if they will rub or not. where are you getting them from???? Those sizes sound like a pacakage from www.tires.com and there are alot better sizes at goof prices there.

Tire size 305/60/17 will translate to ;
305 - 305 millimeters wide (at the WIDEST POINT, which is usually the middle of the sidewall, NOT the tread).
60 - The sidewall height is 60% of the width, which would be 183 millimeters.
VR - This is the maximum speed rating, although I don't know the specific speed for "VR". Maybe "Very Rapid"? ;0))
17 - That'd be the size of the rim that you mount the tire on.

damn a 305/60R17 on a 8" wide rim? that's a little too wide.(if its a 4x2. a 4x4 would be fine) im running a 255/35ZR20 on a 8" rim and that's about the widest i can go with without irregular tire ware.
