Has anyone installed a gps type security system,
where on the vehicle are the components installed, is there factory equipment available,
are there restrictions to locating a vehicle ie: in parking garages etc

I've been looking for the same sort of thing recently. I got some of the normal stuff on my truck (aftermarket alarm, back-up battery, hood lock, hidden battery kill swith), but it still isn't enough for me. With all these cars coming out with OnStar and other tracking systems, how much would an aftermarket GPS tracking system cost? I'd like to have something like that hidden somewhere inside in the case where my truck ever would get stolen.
I'm not so much concerned with a few small stereo components and other interior things, but more the whole truck itself - I've got alot invested in the engine, and that's what I'd really like to hold on to.
