Hello, I have a 1989 dakota that I really love, but I have had some electrical problems twice. It is a high mileage truck with a rebuilt engine. Most of my problems have been with the fuel delivery system (fuel injection) This last time it was very intermitant. I would hit the gas and the truck would start surging like a bucking bronco. Sometimes it would do this and sometimes it was fine. I am still waiting for the diagnosis from my shop. How hard would it be to just do away with the computer and put a new manifold and carb. on this thing? I was thinking about going to an 8-cyl. until a few of you warned me against that.(thank you!!!) Again any advice or help is greatly appreciated. Chris
