Has anyone had the problem to were the Dak with a 4.7 and 5spd will just accelerate by about 2 to 4 miles an hour by itself and then calm back down to the original speed set. All fans and lights are off, and it has even happened going down hill.

I have a 99 R/T (5.9), when I set the cruise my truck will sink me back in the seat while it accelerates about 5 mph over where I set it at, as far as I know this is normal as it has been this way since I bought it

Mine does that, but after I have been traveling about 5 to 10 minutes it will just accelerate full throttle up about 2 to 4 miles an hour then drop back down to the set speed from before. I will set it just before 70 and it will go up to half way between 70 and 75. There are some TSB's that talk about it, # 08-035-00.

I haven't experienced that particular problem, suppose a TSB could be related

I have a 2001 4x2 4.7 Auto and that has never happened to me. The cruise sticks right where I set it and no fluctuation. I don't know if your 5 spd makes much difference from mine, but I'd get it looked at.

hehehe, i knew i wasnt the only one! in my 99 dak r/t, it does this once outta maybe 8 times. usually around 70 mph, highway speed. i find it does it much more often on unlevel surfaces. it sinks me back to the point where i have to tap the brake to get back down to the speed i was at. im sure this happens very commonly, as it also does this in my mom 5.9 durango.
its almost like the comp/cc is beckoning us to go faster... .think it would hold up in court?

Does anyone know if there is a setting in the computer that tells the weight or if it is a Reg, CC, or QC?
