Message: I have a dual flowmaster now, what kind of change would I expect to feel/hear if I switch to a single out flowmaster?

Message: Unless you have a true dual exhaust ( straight from the exhaust manifolds/headers) A single exhaust using the stock diameter pipe before the cat. converter and a single in/out muffler with a 3" tailpipe will out flow a split dual exhaust system. The split duals will be louder than a single using the same model muffler. Some say by using a3" tailpipe that you'll lose some low end torque but I haven't noticed any loss. I'm running on my 4.7 a flowmaster cat back kit using the 3" tailpipe but I replaced the 50 series suv muffler with a delta flow 40 series. It sounds decent now, the stock (in the flowmaster kit) 50 series was almost as quiet as the stock muffler. Not that it effects performance at all but I put a 3" in 3 1/2" out ss gibson slash cut tip on it, makes it look a lot better.

Message: Today I spent as a test day. The dual exhaust had a much better sound compared to the single outlet. The single outlet ran through the RPM's a little bit faster compared to the dual but overall. I went back and had my dual put back on. The sound is just that much better, and the loss of power is only noticed to the keen eye.
