 Subject: 89 timing issues

I've got an 89 Dakota, 3.9, auto. Idles ruff and when put in gear wants to die out. Put a timing light on it and it's jumping all over the place. Does anyone have a suggestion?

You need to do an onboard diagnostic using your CHECK ENGINE light. It sounds like one of your sensors. Go here and follow these directions:
