hi,
my 87 dakota with 2.2 runs like dog....
it was drivable but tonight i think it bailed on me. it will start but it will only idle and it will stall after a minute or so. then i gotta pump the crap out of the pedal to get it to start again. when it is running, if i pump the throttle real fast i can bring the rpms up but for short seconds at a time, but i cannot get a steady stream of power out of it... before it got really bad i could drive it.. but it would have a nast hesitaion at take off, i would have to ride the clutch a little at stops to take off.. and while moving i either had to hold the throttle at 3/4's plus or give it just a touch to keep it moving and nothing in between otherwise it would spit and sputter.... anyone know whats going on here.. im scratching my head getting ready to junk this thing.. any help would be greatly appreciated!!

have your exhaust system checked, your cat or muffler may have taken a dump on ya.

havent checked the exhaust but, new fuel filter, fuel pump, fresh tune up, new egr, new transducer,
timming belt is next on the list too..
