Subject: Lights stay on?

I came home last night and shut off the truck as I turned the lights off. But the truck was off first and even though the switch made it to off, they stayed on. Anyone seen this before? I thought that when I used the remote lock on the keychain everything would go off, but they stayed on. I had to turn the nob back to on athen off again to get them off. Is this a feature?

My 2001 SLT does the same thing. They are time delayed for safety and will turn off. You may have noticed that the only lights on were the headlights (no tail-lights, etc.). The only way I've figured out how to prevent this from happening is to turn off your lights before you turn the ignition off.

This is a safety feature. The purpose is to illuminate the walkway long enough to get to where you are walking. If you turn the lights off first and then the ignition, the lights will stay off.

Oh good. I got alittle worried when the dome light went off after hitting the lock from my keys, but the lights stayed on. I thought they would have gone off together. Thanks...

I also had the same thing happen to me. Check the owner's manual. It talks about it.

The owners manual has a section on this feature. It's amazing what those darn manuals can tell you - hehehe.

Is that feature with the light group or standard. I got the options on order anyways and that feature sound great. I live in a basemnet squite and I find myself walking down to the street light to see which friggin key is for my door.
