Subject: Two free mods completed IP: Logged
Message: In less than one hour this evening, I removed my clutch fan and made and installed an S-bolt for my TB. These are two quick and easy mods, although I'm not sure they actually do anything, just wanted ya'll to know that they are quick and easy.

Message: No noticable differences, but keep in mind that these little mods are just parts of a huge puzzle. Every little bit counts and hopefully will add up to something. As far as the S-bolt, you just replace the stock bolt that holds the air hat on with one that allows you to remove a small piece of metal that restricts air flow thru the TB. Do a search on this site for it and there are lots of diagrams and pics.

Message: The S-bolt is not intended to be a performance mod. It simply allows the installation of an F&B throttle body with the stock airhat. I had to make one to use with my F&B, as it is difficult to use the stock airhat mounting stud assembly on the F&B body. The TB stud mounting hole is offset from the airhat hole, so an "S" bolt must be bent to allow the attachment of the airhat.
You can also remove the stock airhat mounting stud assembly and turn it upside down, but the plate gets in the way of the support ribs in the airhat. I always get a chuckle when I see someone list an "S" bolt as some kind of mod...
Here is a link to a picture of my F&B with it's "S" bolt...

Message: I know removing the stock bolt on the TB isn't a 150 shot NOS, but it would have to, by the laws of physics, allow more air to flow through the TB becasue of the bridge plate at its base.
