Message: Hey better yet why not just drive your truck on the rotors and drums that would be a good cheap lowering kit, funny guys but we don't have to be smarta$$'s TIMMER asked for who knows a good cheap mod, first of all you cantake your rubber flap off(its beside your right head light on the inside of your grille)and you can take that cluch fan off and get a electric fan or when your motor gets hot in the summer turn the a/c on and your stock electric fan will come on,there's a couple and i'm sure people that are not being DICKHEADS can come up with some more, hope this helps a little.the fan removed will inprove gas mileage a little to i would think.

here are some real things
1)adjust TPS voltage to .76 (throttle posotion sensor)do a search for tps voltage for instructions
2)relocate your IAT (intake air temperature) sensor just move it down the intake tube somewhere

Message: *Remove the little elbow in your airbox and/or cut a larger hole on the inlet side so that more air flows stright in.
*Remove the rubber flap behind the grille on the passenger side to let more air flow in.
*Do the old "S-Bolt" mod as described here S-Bolt Threaded rod is cheap.
These three things can be done in a few hours at most. They're good to do, but don't expect any really noticeable difference. Remember, you USUALLY will get what you pay for :)
Its a shame that there are people that must be jackasses when there is a legitimate question.

Message: midnightdak,
doing that will be even better! It will channel air directly to the airbox from the front of the truck. That way forces more air into the airbox rather than just letting it flow into the engine bay. You'll also pull in cooler air, which is a good thing too. You probably wanna have some sort of catch / funnel like piece at the grille to improve air flow into you pipe. Yea, the pipe idea is a good idea.

Message: I have seen a couple of mods similar to what you are talking about, there is a kit that is basicly dryer hose and big funnel. you can mount the funnel down on the lower valence and route the drier hose to the airbox.
I have also heard from the service guys at my dealer ship of guys taking the flap out of the pasenger tire well to increase airflow.
One big bump in a puddle and the airbox will fill with water and this can damage the engine and does put it out of warrenty.
I have not modded the airbox for this reason.
I will try and find the product and post the link.
looks easy to make yourself and I think they wanted $200 for it.
