Message: I just changed my fluid in my differential oil. I used the recommended fluid weight and specs. I used Castrol GL5. I don't have limited slip. On a long drive it started to smell. Is this normal? Could it be the fluid burning off the cover plate burning off and housing. I popped the plug and stuck my finger in the oil filler hole and the fluid was just warm. Any ideas if this is normal for the cover plate and diff housing to be Hot. Thanks
