Subject: Electrical snapping noise IP: Logged
Message: 99 club cab 318. On mornings when there is a dew out I can hear an electrical snapping arcing sound from the engine. Once the engine warms up and dries out its fine and goes away. Ive already tried replacing the wires but that did not get rid of it. Could this have anything to do with the crank sensor that has already been replaced once.I have even tried misting in water under the hood at night but still could not see or hear anything. Does my truck have a normal distributer or is it all electronic? Any input would be great!

Message: Could be coming from anywhere there is an electrical connection. Since it goes away when warmed up, I have to assume that moisture is causing a short somewhere. Go out some morning before the sun comes up and try to see the arc.
