Subject: Another Taylor Wire ?
IP: Logged

Message:
When you guys, (almost all here), upgraded your sparkplug wires to Taylor, MSD, Accell, etc, did you notice a hesitation or stumble if you will at idle? ALso do you have to reset the pcm when changing the wires? I have checked to make sure of proper contact on sparkplugs, and the wire seem good(type wher you install ends), and it runs like a t top at regular speeds. I did notice that my idle rpm is around 700, form around 900 before the swap. THanks for info

I do have a stumbling prob at idle with taylor wires on it, but do not know if the wires are what is causing it. I have sometimes thought about changing back to smaller wires to see if it helps but have not as of yet. You should not have to reset the computer when installing new wires but it couldn,t hurt.

If you have checked that they are all making good connections and still have a stumble, have you made sure that the correct wires are going to the correct plugs.

I am almost 99.9% positive its in the wires I made. I will try to isolate tonight with stocker wires one@ a time. I did replace on wire at a time
when I intalled the new wires, so somewhere I am not making good contact. Thank for the help...

Are these Taylor wires a universal set or a custom set for the magnum engines? TIA.

In this case, I bought a universal set, for like 30 bucks @ truckperformance.com.

I had a stumble problem with 8mm Taylors on my T/A. I changed them out to Summit universal 90deg boots and have not had the stumble return. I was told if you run the resistor core Taylor wires (like I did)you can get a stumble, the spiral core don't have this problem on a friends Camaro.
