Hey Joe - I found a hard copy of that article and scanned it in. The story is about a local guy who competes in IASCA, and his 4 year old daughter who also competes locally in outlaw category.
The top right hand corner I took directly off the Audio Thunder website (hope you can read it) where he placed second with a ranking of 183.7.
Me - I know SQUAT about audio - I'd be happy if my infinity CD player was working ;)

Hey lesley.. thanks for the article.. and you know the funny thing.. i know that guy.. hahaha met him lastyear at a stereo comp and thro other various ones.. hes a nice guy.. and his daughters little sound mobile is pretty sweet.. and his good ol dodge 360 is something to drool over..lol
i like the way he put his playstation in the dash.. but at the comp here in belleville he only hit like 155 and didnt win i dont think.. but his daughters spl outlaw wagon won with a 169 or somehting to that extent..LOL

I find 183.7 very hard to believe. 180 is about a large rocket or bomb/land mine, holy hell. That would only take over 10,000 watts on a normal subwoofer.
Then again, it might be that loud.

Where did it say that he hit 183.7? The only number I see is 171.3 which was hit during outlaw.

He didn't hit 183.7 db, those are the SQ results so he got 183.7 SQ points.
