Subject: Who makes the best Cat converter ? IP: Logged
Message: Iam thinking about replacing mine factory Cat converter because I want my exhaust to be louder.
Iam currently running a magnaflow, and its not as loud as I would like it to be. So who makes the best cat converter out there that will make my exhaust louder.

Message: Did you look at *Magnaflow's Stainless Cat. It looks good and should flow well. Other brands:
*Random technologies
*hedman performance 2000 series
Dynomax Super converter
Car sound
spin tech
Catco
I would personally get one of the ones I marked *. They all can be order in 3" in/out. The spin tech I never really heard anything about, and the catco I heard some bad things. I seen the Random technologies brand used in alot of cars in magazines. The headman one I only just recently found, but should flow well since they make quality parts.

Message: take that sucker off, your 3rd cat shouldn't have any sensors in it i know mine don't.The cat is more restictive than your muffler is,it SHOULD run better with it off.

Message: i'm not telling you it has 3 cats but i thought mine only had 1 but instead it did have 3 and the 3rd is coming off soon because it has no sensors in it,IF yours does have 1 and it may,but if it has 3 the other 2 will be up rite behind the exuast manifolds on each side and there the only 2 that you cannot take off.So if you have not got up under there and looked already do it cause IF it does have the other 2 up there, you will have to get under the truck to see them i think, then you could get rid of the one under the passenger seat.i'm also getting rid of my 3rd cat because when i get on the gas hard it smeels like i have rotten eggs cooking under there...lol.

Message: I have heard that removing the third cat, drastically shortens the life of the two pre-cats. Not sure if it's true or not. I have been wanting to either remove my cat or put in a carsound hiflow, have decided yet.

Message: Mine only has one cat. Its a 2000 4.7L. I had my cat replaced with a carsound cat 2.5" in/out. I paid $90 bucks for it. Muffler shops generally don't have a problem with replacing a cat as long as they are replacing the cat not removing it altogether.

Message: Carsound is the best. Great price (you can get a 3" in and out for well under $100). Stainless and welded. They're the same folks that make Magnaflow exhaust.

Message: I recently had a 3inch car sound cat and 3in magnaflow muffler installed on my R/T.I used my stock tailpipe so people wouldn't notice as much.I had already installed the mopar headers and now it has a nice deep tone thats not annoying in the cab.
