Subject: Power Door Lock

Message:
In the past week my driver side power door lock has become a problem. It started making some noise a while back and then this past week it became extremely loud. The lock still works fine, both manually and with the keyless remote. I can only imagine the motor has gone bad but wanted to find out if anyone else has had this experience and has any input. The main reason it is an issue is that I scare people that walk by it is so loud. It actually overpowers my alarm chirps.

Thanks,
Gary

Mine's been making a weird noise for some time now. Every time I lock it with the remote it sounds like my truck is blowing its nose. When I first takeoff after starting it, it does it again when I hit 15mph and the doors lock automatically. I use the key as much as possible. Be careful, I've noticed that my driver side lock will not unlock when I open the door to get out. It stays in the locked position. I locked myself out a few times (once with the engine running) before I learned my lesson. I keep meaning to get it fixed but a new motor costs around $250 and I just never feel like spending that much for the door lock.

I have a 2000 quad and three weeks ago I had to replace the passenger side door (front) lock mechanism. It went bad. You won't like this.....$130.00. The servo just decided to crap out on me. A week later the rear passenger door started the same s*#t. I have been ignoring it but sometimes it freezes up and can't even be moved manually. Bad luck or terrorism???? Hmmmmm.
