Subject: Sorry but another ?? on headers!!!!
IP: Logged

Message:
Im looking at getting a set of full length hooker headers for my 91 5.2L and am wondering how long they last. I live in Michigan and we have long nasty winters and i dont want them to rot out with in the first 4yrs of owning them.
Thanks

Buy a set that has protective coating on them or have them done and they should last forever. I've had a set of the Kenne Bell headers for 2-1/2" years in all conditions including road salt and they look like new. They are nickel plated inside and out.

91 Dakota Freak,

The headers for our truck from hooker are > 600 bones in ceramic coated form. And don't even think about trying to run the smog pump that comes with the stock 318. (won't clear).

Personally I am thinking about getting two pairs of flowtech cheapies, spraying as much anti rust paint on as I can, and using one set for a backup. Will end up 200 cheaper than the hooker super comp. Your decision.

Sorry also not real worried about the AIR pump it just robs some hp. I do believe that it still fits on the bracket there is just no hole in the headers for the upstream pipe to bolt on to but the down stream one will still work. I havent seen them on a truck yet so im just guessing
