All depends on your money. 4X4's run at least $2K more.

the 2k isn't the problem(daddy is buying car hehe) Well so the inital cost isn't a big to me, but I know they add lots of weight making miliage less but by how much? Honestly is the 4x4 option really worth it for texas snow? I don't live there yet and don't know how bad it is. All I know is I don't like my 300zx on wet roads at all so I getting a new car for texas which rains and snow's more often then las vegas. I have heard that a 4.7L can roast tires? Well would this type of strain kill the 4wd in 2wd mode?

Texas snow can be bad. What's worse is ice but even a 4X4 may not help you a lot there. Ice is ice. Lots of guys say their 4X4 definitely improves snow handling.

What are you going to do with your Z?

Well the car kinda died(lots of problems nothing too major but still atleast $1000) last month and I am not gonna waste my money fixing it. It's gonna be a gift to someone in the family(the part staying in vegas) as their problem.

Having lived in Texas, here is my recommmendation:

1- unless you live in the Lubbock/Amarillo area, you may never see snow, ice yes but snow no.

2- nost Texans have 2 wheel drive UNLESS they are into 4wheeling

3- I have never owned a two wheel drive truck, probably never will

If it were me, I would get the 4x4, better resale value but if you want economy/more performance, go 2 wheel drive.
