Subject: Fuel Injectors/Running rich?!!?!? IP: Logged
Message: Well, the truck is still surging a little here and there.
After driving for awhile, it'll pop codes P0202, P0204, P0206, P0207 (Which means injector control circuit malfunction). I'm running the FMS 21# injectors in the 4.7L. Checked with the scan tool and the long term fuel trim while on cruise control at 70MPH is about -15% to -18%. I've seen it peaking at 20% or so as well. Is this too high? I have the Leach PCM, should I have him cut back on the fuel a little?
I appreciate your help. I'll pull the freeze frame data in the morning.
Thanks
william

Message: I am working with Leach on that right now. I am sending my PCM for a re-flash this week as it was running VERRRRY rich from 3500 rpm all the way up to 5500. I'll let you know toward the end of the week.

Message: I thought that I would post this for the guys that may be having the same probs that you were having. I have a 2000 dak quad 4.7l and I just got p0203, p0204, p0208 which are fuel injector codes. I read somewhere on the web that a TPS that is malfunctioning will cause voltage spikes to the PCM and sending false readings that the injectors are going bad. my idle was up and down and acted goofy on the freeway. I replaced the TPS and the truck runs great! no more trouble codes!

I have a 2000 dakota quad 4.7l and I just got p0203, p0204, p0208 which are fuel injector codes. These codes didnt pop up one by one, they came up all at once which may mean that something else is the problem. they all cant go bad at the same time. I read somewhere on the web that a TPS that is malfunctioning will cause voltage spikes to the PCM and sending false readings that the injectors are going bad. my idle was up and down and acted goofy on the freeway. I replaced the TPS and the truck runs great! no more trouble codes! it was 35 bucks at autozone, what a cheep fix!
