 Subject: painting mud flaps

I want to get the hard, molded mud flaps and have them painted silver to match my 01 QC. Ive got flares so will it look OK, or will there be too much stuff around the wheels?
Has anybody painted their's and was there any problems with the paint peeling off the inside because of stone chips ?

to help assure there wont be any peeling, use a flexible primer you can get it at a local auto paint supplier it comes in a spray can and follow ALL directions on the can.
