Do the stock brake pads have a warning squeal? I have about 40k now and the brake pedal seems like it is traveling farther than it should with a lot of fade, but I have not had any sqealing noises. It's like 10 degrees out, so I don't feel like taking the wheel off to check the pads if I don't have to. yeah, I'm lazy. Thanks.

if I remember right they dont. Mine were pretty worn at 32K in fact they were pretty mimimal. the padding itself was actually coming off in chunks. absolutely the worse pads I have ever seen in all the time Ive worked on cars. they were literally flaking to pieces in my hands
I went for soem Wagners and they work great

hey dak, you say your pedal is low and seems to fade? when was the last time you adjusted your rear brakes? id start by doing that and bleeding out that old nasty brake fluid(if you havent allready) if your rears are way out of adjustment your pedal will be low. just givin' my $.02.

hey joe thats a good idea...actually i bet the rear brakes are pretty low from all the brake stands :)...i wonder how much a shop like midas charges to have everything replaced. I have NO time whatever.
