Subject: Rear Drum brake question IP: Logged
Message: I have an 00 CC with 4.7l, 2wd with the trailer tow group and its rear brakes time. Parts store wanted to know what size shoes I needed 11" or 13". Other than pulling the tires off and measuring the drums, is there another way to tell? None of my paperwork or my dealership manual tell anything about any different sized shoes/drums.
Help, 75k on the squeaking brakes (I hear pre-wear indicators) and 2 days till a last minute 1000 mile trip.

Message: The drum shoes size is on the sticker inside your glove box lid. if you have the tow pkg like me it will be the 11" x 2" wide..look at the sticker.

Message: I will look during my lunch break, I asked the guy at the dealership parts dept. and he thought that if I had the trailer tow package that I might end up having the larger sized drums, he never mentioned the sticker though. Thank kev.

Message: You should not have to do anything to replace your old drums with new ones. Just make sure you get the right size.
