If I press the gas pedal all the way to the end, the car seems not taking it all well and makes a noise under the hood just like the hard disk of computer when it's processing data only louder: FAST chrik chrik chrik. When I release the gas pedal it goes away. Also if I apply the accelerator slowly it doesn't happen.
Any clues as what this might be on a '99D 5.9L 50K?

Cheap gas = engine knock.Try higher octane.Or better quality gas if you are using high octane already.
