YEA. I just picked up my '98 Dak 4x4 club cab V8 Sport 5spd. That was just a little hard to find. It has 93K miles so that's a bit on the high side but the interior and (for the most part) the exterior are in great shape. It's got Goodyear MT-R's which will kick ass in the snow. I'm really stoked. The truck sounds really good with the mid exit Flowmaster system. Not positive because I haven't heard a three chamber but I belive it is a two chamber system. I will have to take a look at it.
Anyway, just a few questions for now. What is the best manual for these trucks? Should I go and try to find a Haynes or a Dodge service manual or what? I'd like to have it around just in case.
Also at this mileage (93K) what should I be worried about? The truck was treated pretty well - synthetic its whole life, 4k oil changes. When does timing need to be worried about? I will proabably go ahead and do plugs wires etc. Mostly what I am worried about is stuff that is preventable now but could be expensive later if it fails on its own. I'd rather run the risk of being stranded than run the risk of toasting a head if you know what I mean. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Also any suggestions for a CD deck? Thanks again-

About the main thing you have to worry about, if it's been taken care of, is the timing chain. Those are netorious for stretching out. You can get a good double-roller for about $70 or so, minus installation :)
Head unit? I like my Pioneer DEH-47P!

I will be getting the manual, but if you happen to know, how hard is the timing chian install? Is it possible to do in a weekend? I may just take it to a dealer and have them do that and a basic look over. Are Dodge dealers pretty good about not jerking you around? I know each one is different but some are more notorious than others. I will also be doing plugs, wires, dist cap and rotors . . . any suggestions there? At first glimps it looks like quite a pain, any tricks? (5.2L) Can anybody make a suggestion as to a good dealer/shop in the bay area? Thanks much.

If you don't have any problems right now then don't worry about the timing chain immediately.
Do a tune-up yourself it is not hard just put everything back as it came off and take your time.
