I figured out why my gas mileage is not that great. Went to a scale today and weighed my truck. With a cab-high shell on the back and a full tank of gas, it weighed in at 4640 pounds!!!
I always knew it was a little heavy, but jeez!! What a porker! I feel sorry for the Kia that I'm sure I'll run over one of these days...

Message: Durtydog,
I've got an A.R.E. cap, CX series. The brochure says the ones for compact trucks weigh 135 pounds and the full-size weighs 175, so I'm guessing 150-160.
By the way, I downloaded an excel spreadsheet from Bernd's site that you can punch all kinds of performance data into...neat stuff. According to that, my dak is putting out 200 rear-wheel hp, based on the weight (with driver), my 1/4 mile time, and trap speed. I was surprised...I have done very little to the truck, and was guessing maybe 180 at the most, especially since mine is a CA version.
