Message: I have a 1973 360 out of a camper with the trans still intacted, what are the possible transmissions that i could have or how could i find out what the trans is.

Message: more than likely you have a 727 or a 904. if its a 727, it would more than likely have a long tailshaft. if you pull the pan off of it, i have seen some 727's have their ID numbers stamped onto the pan rail. another indication is, some of the early 70's 727's have a 727 marking on the outside of the case on the lower corner in front of the shift lever and the kickdown linkage.

Message: If it is the original trans it is definately a 727. And chances are it has the good 4 pinion planetary set-up (very good for strength).
