Message: hey all,
I have been wondering what I can do to clean up the engine area. There is a lot of greese and other crud. Also what are some good interior cleaners? I am not trying to have show quality but... Anyway any and all info would be great.
P.S. are there any good web sites on this topic?
thanks again

Message: There's good stuff at your auto parts store. You can spray or brush that stuff on. I would go to one of these do-it-yourself car wash places that allow engine cleaning (be careful, not all of them do and they get slightly disturbed if you do that and they don't allow it). Make sure you cover your TB and sensitive electronic parts before spraying or you'll be sitting there awhile. The power sprayers are great. Your other alternative (more expensive) is to take it to someone that does engine steam cleaning. Make it look almost new.

Message: I go to a do-it-yourself car wash, spray on some Simple Green (after covering my air filter), let it sit for a minute, then hose it all off. I do mine about twice a year, have done it on several different cars and haven't had a problem yet. It doesn't make it shiny, but it keeps it from looking dirty. I've seen some cleaner stuff at an auto parts store that I'm thinking about trying, but I can't remember the name of it.

Message: I use stuff called Castrol Super Clean, it works wonders, and will elimate any grease you have.
