Subject: HELP with Radio install ASAP 2001 + IP: Logged
Message: well I just came back from Circuit City, and picked up the W-harness and the radio brackett. Here's my situation, I only have a couple hours before the bidding is over on the radio I want, now my question is I bought this bracket it says 74 and up, fine that's cool but I have a 2002 and the radio has rounded edges and this bracket does not have such rounded edges. Is this the right bracket for the radio? Check the pics out, I know I'm not the only one with a 2002 doing a radio swap. Sorry if this post sound like hell but I'm in a hurry and I type one finger at a time lol
Thanks for any help

Message: Not sure about the bracket but for 02 the wiring harness is different, DC went to a one piece harness plug, the previous years used 2 connectors, one black and one gray.

Message: Doesn't look right to me either. If I had to guess I'd say the packaging (74 & up) was designed before Mopar went to the rounded radio design and just hasn't been updated. I found a page on the audio forum where someone talks about the newer daks having rounded edges.

Here is a link to an adapter at sounddomain.com. Doesn't list a Dakota in the applications but on the adapter that says 74-up they list the dakota as an exception and say you need this one.

Hope that helped
