Ok.. I'm totally clueless about rearends but here is my problem and if anyone has an Idea please let me know.

I think my rear axel or bearings or something is shot because when I turn right into driveways on an incline there is this hideous clunking noise coming from the rear end. It does it every time. I checked the obvious like the brake drum an lug nuts to make sure they were tight along with the Shock bolts.

I think it's the axel because if I stand next to the rear of the truck and push the bed I can see the tire remaining still and the axel sliding left and right. Somethings definitly wrong down there I think.

Any ideas?

I've got a 99 Dak 5.2L 4x4 with 8.25 rear axel and LSD.

Thanks,

sounds like a LSD problem - try adding more friciton modifier to the rear diff fluid before you jump to conclusions

IT IS THE CAB SHIFTING ON THE MOUNTS,
THAT IS WHAT IS MAKING THE NOISE

Nope it's not the cab shifting. I checked the mounting blocks.. spare tire bolts. Heck ...I tightened every bolt I could find under neath the truck.... like I said before .. when I push the bed of the truck I can see the whole axel sliding left and right so I'm going to take it to a drivetrain shop on Friday when I get paid and have them take the axel apart. Check the bearings and everything else in their that I'm completly clueless about.
