Can you see fluid leaking? It sounds like you have a small leak. How are they being bled? You have to bleed the line furthest from the M/C first, the work your way toward the M/C with the next furthest and so on. That would be rear passenger side first, then rear driver side, then front passenger side then front driver side last.

Check all the lines and fittings for corrosion and tightness before you bleed again and make sure the fluid level stays high in the M/C while bleeding.

If you have air going in you have to have fluid coming out.

Last, your M/C might be biffed. Try a replacement.

2000 CC, turned at 9,000 miles, trashed by 12,000. Installed powerslots with Hawk pads, now at 57,000 miles with no problems.

I have to just do a brake job on my 97 CC now. 100000 miles and the pads aren't used up yet but the rotors are a little warped. Back brakes are still OK. I guess having a 5 speed makes it easy on the brakes.

Mine are shot, but it took 35,000 miles to do it. It really appears to be hit or miss with the brake issues.

It SURE would be nice if people would mention the year of Dakota they have in these posts. Like "50" for example. You state you changed from and rear several times, but you didn't mention a year. Did you swap to disc in the back yourself perhaps? Just trying to figure it out.

BTW, I've had no problems at all on my 2003 4x4 QC but then with only 6k miles I better not! LOL..

jerry you front are 80% of your braking. The rears should have ABS. If your locking them up its possible that you have no or little tread on the tires.

40k on front brakes... had cheap factory pads that rutted and warped the rotors. Replaced Rotors and got good pads at 40k.

Now I've got 100,000 miles on the truck and just replaced rear drums/pads. The front brakes are still in pretty good shape *knock on wood*. Keeping lugs torqued to 100 pounds definitely helps the rotors last a bit longer.
