Message: Stock, 91 , 318 TBI "as far as I know" One of the stangs I beat had all the goodies, he litterally jumped off the ground off the line and actually got a little pavement on me, but when my dakota hit second I gained on em, pulled a little ahead, shifted into third, he caught up a little "dead even" in the upper RPM in third I pulled away, stayed ahead through fourth, had to let off for a wicked curve, he was pissed and blew by me "extremely dangerous manuver" we both pulled in the same 7/11 for gas. He was an older man with white hair and beard, he just kept lookin at me and shakin his head. I felt all warm and fuzzy inside, but yet, sorry for him, his was a brand new off the showroom "extra high performance stang" and I know he gave it all he had. I wanted to talk to em, but figured Id better leave well enough alone. afraid he mighta been senile or some sh@t! Although, a new Trans am ate me a new @ss same day,,, damn, that thing was fast. I found that most, if not all stock stangs, are low geared, if they dont get to big a jump on you off the line, you can take em, that is, if er ponies are all in good order.
PS:,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Oh!!, and pushin 208,000 miles!!

Message: The race described above took place about 8 months ago, and it was one of their "higher performance " models, had the Factory Cowl induction and some other insignias detailing other specs, forgot what they were though, it was a 5.0 "probably a special order job" Sounded awesome. People have to face the facts, combine a higher compression engine, with fuel injection, right gear ratios, even stock, its somthin to Reckon with!! Dakota 5.2!! certified hell raiser!!

Message: I don't think you get what I'm saying, they DON'T MAKE 5.0s ANYMORE! All that was under the hood of that thing was either a 3.8L V6 or a 4.6L V8, the 5.0 is dead. Look on Ford's website. I'm not trying to take anything away from you but don't claim to beat a mustang that's got a mystery motor in it. The 4.6s are good motors, but it's no 5.0.

Message: Well I guess that stang must have spent some time sittin in a garage, it had the 5.0 on the side. I thought it was brand new cuz it looked like new. When did they quit makin the 5.0? Like I said, it happened aprox. 6-8 months ago and given it mighta been purchased a few months prior, and possibly a previous year model. This means it could have actually been a year old "since production" 2 years from today, make sense? possible? All I know is, it had the 5.0 emblem on it, and really, I dont view it as a monumental victory, I had 16 cubic inches on em. When I can catch that camaro, I'll really smile.

Message: 95' was the last year for the 302 in a Mustang. 96' and up all have the 4.6's in varied forms.
