You said:
If a person changes their Dino oil every 3000 miles then they use 4-5 times the oil that I do. 5 times the oil = 5 times the number of tankers = 5 times the chances for a major spill.
We know the major use of a tankers contents is gasoline. By using a differnet lube oil will not reduce the number of tankers. And people don't want a pipline in their backyard so we have to use tankers. Perhaps we should put more emphasis on gasoline usage to reduce comsumption than lube oil??

Sandman, you answered the question better than me. I am a relatively new member but can't remember my password so i only post under my name now, George. I guess if some of these young guys had gone thru the war years, I was a kid, and had to conserve they would think different. I was young but I remember rationing so I don't waste. I bet most of the guys here don't even remember the oil crisis much less the war (not Korean, Vietnam, or Gulf).
I questioned huh yelling at me and now I think he is mocking me being a member of Sierra Club. This is not the hunting club but the conservation club. I respect the Ducks Unlimited for protecting habitat but if you are not a member then you are just poking fun at my expense. I would rather you yell than be a turd.

Message: OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH!!!!!!! I was afraid when George put "Sierra Club" at the bottom of his posting that this would turn into a flame thread. I guess some people identify the Sierra Club with Greenpeace, PETA, or other radical groups. Any person or group that is trying to find ways to conserve energy and cut back on polution is O.K. with me. I work in the chemical industry. We are constantly looking for ways to recycle, conserve, and cut down on pollution. I consider myself an environmentalist and my company expects that out of me.
