Does anybody know where I can find a front license plate bracket for a 99 Dak Sport? The OEM that came with the truck got smahed up. I have looked online and have found them for over 20$ + shipping (seems a little steep for a plastic mount) and have also checked junkyards. Surprisingly nobody has any for a Dak or a Durango. If anybody has one they are willing to sell, please let me know, I gotta get one for inspection coming soon. Thanks

This won't help, but our 96 Mazda Protege (awesome vehicle), bought in FL, moved back to TX. and had to have the front plate.
After NOT spending $20+ for a bracket, I use some nylon rope thru the grille on the valance. Same spot, doesn't look TOO tacky. Works

Thanks, yeah up in MA, we gotta have it for the newer registered vehicles. I figured I could use some zip ties, but I liked the look and fit of the OEM bracket.

Contact any dealer/used parts/junkyard in a State where the
front plates are required. They will be able to help.

I am in VA & have had my front plate in the window for over 2 years w/o any problems from the inspection stations or law enforcement, so it will depend on state laws. However, $20 beats a ticket/fine & time involved to deal with it.

An easier way is just to use the holes for the bracket and just attach the plate their that's how I have mine done if you don't have the screws it will cost you like $2, the holes on the bumper are the same distance apart as the holes on a plate

yeah I live in MA, and they said the plate in the window wouldn't cut it. They are really strict aout inspections. So Will, did you just drill holes in the bumper for the plate or should there be holes already there, it is a new bumper so it has never had a mount on it. I was thinkin about just drilling some holes and bolting the plate on directly or simply just puttin a frame around it to make it look half way decent.

The truck I just got had never had it's front plate installed.
The dealer mechanic used two self-tapping screws and kinda just slapped it on there. I'm sure the air-dam looks like $hit behind it now, so I'm not going to bother thinking about changing out the holder.

Mine had the holder on in so the holes were there, but you could drill the holes just make sure you center it so it doesn't look to bad, the self tapping screws work too but they do have a tendency to mess things up a bit

Look closely at your air dam, where the license plate bracket would mount. You'll see two small dimples...that's where the screw holes are to be drilled.
