Just acquired this vehicle,it has a 3.9/5sp manual/4x4. Just curious on how these trucks hold up, engine/drivetrain wise. the truck only has 90,000 miles on it, it was my uncles, he always took care of it, so i believe it is in good shape. picked it up in PA and drove 4 hours back to NY with it, it ran great, very smooth. Got some questions for all of you knowledgable dakota owners.

1) the tailights are not working right now, checked all fuses and bulbs they are fine. Wondering if any have had this problem, any suggestions on where to start.

2) Was limited slip an option on these trucks in this year for the rear diff?

3) Will the newer dakota 4x4 rims & tires fit this truck, as far as Lug/bolt circle/backspacing?

Thank you for any info, it is much appreciated.

The newer dakota rims won't fit because in 92 I believe they switched to the 6 bolt style.

had an 88, the engines hole up well. mine was an auto 2wd so not sure about the drivetrain. But eys you could also get a limited slip, at least in the rear.
