Subject: X-treme Catch-All Floor Mats... IP: Logged
Message: As winter approaches I'm starting to think of how much of a beating my truck carpet will have to take. Just wondering if anyone uses X-treme Catch-All Floor mats and are they worth the $60??

Message: Every penny! I put a set of Catch All extremes in my truck but a month after I got it. Just in time for the sloshy muddy winters vehicles go through where I live.
These are a bit different from the regular Catch Alls. They are not as pretty as the regular ones. They are not a carpet, just a tough plastic. Where they excel over the regular ones is in winter.
- Water does not soak through them
- You will get a puddle on them when the snow on your feet melts. I literally have a 1/4" deep puddle at times. But it's better than my carpet.
- Any puddles on them turn into ice when you leave them. Then, when you get back to it, you can just brush out all the ice with your hand. No more puddle!
- Super tough, hard to beat up and wear out. I actually have no wear marks on mine.
- Colour holds up well. I have the grey ones, wish I got black.
- Hooks into the carpet, but does not leave a noticable mark.
- When they say form fit, they mean it. It fits perfectly with my floor to every bumb.
Now, the only downfall, is the 1/"2 to 1" section between the door sill and floor mat. That part you can't do much about, but it's only that section, not your floor.
It stops mildew and such, so your floors not only look new, but still has that new car smell too.
A wise investment indeed -- pay for themselves.

Message: I forgot to mention, just clean them with Simple Green. Some numb nut at the dealer cleaned mine with tire dressing and it was so g'damn slick. Then the slick stuff got onto my shoes and then onto the peddels. 5spd became no fun.

Message: I picked up a set of really nice floor mats at the local Wal-Mart...don't remember the brand name, though. They're a heavy duty, thick rubber/plastic, and they have an orange Dodge Ram head logo molded into them...it was the only set on the rack. They look really neat in the slate gray interior of my Dak. I put them over top of the carpet mats.

Message: I know carparts.com does. They usually have some pretty good deals around Christmas time.
Here's one:
10% Off (excludes tires) w/ Any Purchase 20608
They usually have free shipping around x-mas too, but I am sure you can find it cheaper somewhere else.

Message: I looked at floor mats and some of these weighted like what seemed like forty pounds and hold eight quarts of water. I figured my gas mileage will go down with the added weight. Ended up getting a lightweight vinyl pair

Message: I havn't tried the Husky or Weather Tech mats, but my Catch alls are super light. They aren't that thick, they have no need to be.

Message: Don't get the Husky's whatever you decide. I have them and they do not have enough of a lip to hold the water from running off onto floor near sill plate when you round a corner. Couldn't figure out why I hardly had to dump the water off from the mat until I found the floor was completely soaked from the seat almost to where it ends under dash. Pieces of ^&%% and a waste of over $60. On the other hand they do a great job in the summertime of keeping the carpets clean but don't look that great, so I still say they are garbage. I am going to order the Xtreme catch alls this week for both my Daks now that I have heard your testimonial xplikt! Thanks.

Message: 2THEXTRM, I don't know how much of a lip you need, but the Catch Alls aren't super high either. I remember seeing these ones that were almost buckets once ago, heh.
If you got the form fit Husky liners, I think those are actually taller than the Nifty Catch Alls.
They work well, but nothing's perfect. I still get some water from the spot between the door sill and floor mats. All you gotta do is maybe once a month or so take them out, press a towel down on it and let it air dry or take a blow dryer to it. My main concern is with dirt/mud/road salt/grease.
Gimme another month -- when it gets really nasty -- and I can show you pictures of why this was my first change to the truck.

Message: The Husky's actually don't have a lip, I think to make it blend better against sill plate they decided to taper it there and is just a funnel for water to run off onto carpet. The catchall appears to have at least a 1/2 lip all the way around so you would have to overflow it to leak onto carpet? I don't mind the space between sill plate and floormat, that see's little snow or crap. I am more concerned with all the snow, salt, mud and crud that melts off your boots while driving. That's the stuff that does your carpet in and gives you a nice musty smell that's hard to get rid of every spring for those who still use the cheap rubber mats or carpeted mats.
I have always bought a good set of winter mats since I have owned cars/trucks and it they pay for themselves come resell or trade-in time when you can put the factory carpet mats back in and the interior looks like new with no visible wear-n-tear. They make great gifts too for those friends and family who don't understand the value of using winter mats:) I detail everyone's vehicles come springtime so it is more for me to save on carpet shampooing time, lol.
I just ordered two sets of the Xtreme Catchalls from 4wheelparts.com for $69.95 each with free shipping. That was the best price I could find on the internet.

Message: That's about the price I paid for them, and the cheapest I've seen them for.
It's great when anything that melts off turns to ice and you can brush it out the next time you get in your vehicle. There are a few things I've found I will always put on a vehicle:
Catch All floor mats
Roadmaster Active Suspension (lead spring vehicles)
Seat Cover (I'm using a saddleman currently)
Spray-on bedliner
I would use a dash mat, but I think they are ugly as hell, so I just Zaino it often and try to use a shade when I remember.

Message: I've got the catch alls as well. They are great in the front - I don't have to worry about getting my carpets all white with salt anymore :)
Unfortunately, mine don't conform to the floor as much as they should. I've had them for a year and I'm hoping that they will lay down more as they wear in. I have the back one too but am disappointed with it. It's not even 12 inches front to back so it does no good for people with big feet.
Cheers!

Message: My Husky's work fine.
Yes the lip is smaller by the door sill, I just bend it over a little and make it a little taller, never had a problem with'em.
The others sound like a good product as well.

Message: Maybe the Husky's have changed since you bought yours? I just bought a set and there is a very large lip between the mat and door. Hell,I even thought about triming it down some so I wouldn't catch my feet on it.
