I would start saving TODAY is dodge said they would make a vehicle to compete with the Chevy SSR, like the Dakota Sidewinder. Make it a realistic setup with lets say........... A 5.7HEMI and A T-56. Dodge would have chevy OWNED

I wish it would happen, but the person who came up with the sidewinder left (Bob Lutz) and took his idea with him, its just that chevy had the balls to make it.

We should start a grass roots campaign to get this going

yeah.. it'd sure be nice if they had made that.. so they could be more rare than vipers and probably just as, if not more, expensive. the sidewinders WERE built on chevy F-body frames.. which is why AS SOON as dodge said.. no we're not producing.. the chevy SSR popped up. notice.. SAME body style.. just chevy looking.. chevy engine.. STILL built on F-body frame. ssr looks like a ripoff to me if i've ever seen one. i do like the split windsheild though

I think the Chevy SSR is a sharp looking truck. I also think the Dakota Sidewinder is a sharp looking truck. And I would be proud own either one.

I dont know the history behind the two trucks, but I did read in the current issue of Popular Mechanics that the SSR is getting the current 5.3L. I also read that Chevy is trying to get the price down in order for the SSR to replace the Camaro.

Funny, a "pick-up" ment to replace a "sports car".
