I'm thinking of buying a 98 dak ext cab, but the paint isn't looking to good, how much does a good paint job cost on these? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

It would seem to me if the truck is only 4 years old and already the paint "isn't looking too good" maybe the seller hasn't looked after the truck. If he's neglected to keep the outside looking nice has he even done routine maintanance on the engine and tranny??

I have thought about this too. While we are on the topic, how much would it cost for repainting, not because the paint is bad, but if I wanted to go to a new color? Probobly won't get it done, but for future reference if I ever have money to burn.

typically around $1500-$2000 but it all depends on the kind of paint and quality job you are looking for. Old paint taken down to bare metal? Simply paint over the existing paint? I've known people to pay $10,000 for a paint job.

Or if you are willing, and have the right equipt. to do it yourself, your probably looking at anywhere from $300. to $600. bucks. Figures can go up from $600., it just depends. I mean if you just sand the clear, scuff, clean, and are good with a gun, and have the right compressor for the gun, you can spend around $300.00 plus your time. I just re-painted my wife's balck dodge avenger, 3 coats base, 5 coats clear, for just over $350. including paper.
