Hello
I have a 92 V8 dakota with the small fuel tank. I have a lead foot and im sick of filling it up all the time. Has any one ever attempted to swap to the bigger tank? If so what do I need.

Yea I have,easy....just do it right the first time and you wont have to do it again.
you need a 22 gallon tank,Pump. just remove Gas,tank&pump replace with new tank and pump, simple as that. any questions please email me at dakotasport94@hotmail.com

My '92 had the 15 gallon tank. Not too bad in the daily routine, but a pain on a highway trip. The only benefit was weight reduction. Gasoline weighs about 6lb/gal.x7=extra 42 lbs. But that's splitting hairs. Get the 22 gal. tank.

Tom,
You and I talked about this a long time ago. Any idea where I can pick up a tank and pump at relatively low cost? Also was there an issue with the fuel gauge reading properly? I can't seem to recall if the guage would read correctly because the sending unit is incorporated into the pump/filter assy. E-mail me off list if you want.

The 22 is a bit small too :) What we need is a 30! Oh I yearn for the day when I could get 400+ miles of highway driving on a tank....

I can get 400+ miles of highway driving on a tank. 18-19 mpg with the 24 gallon tank on my 02 QC 4.7 auto.
