Subject: Ignition kill? IP: Logged
Message: Looking for a pointer in the right direction, either to a post, or instructions, or just recommendations.
I almost had my 98 Dakota stolen on Tuesday. They couldn't get the ignition tumbler out of the switch, so only ended up taking my flight headset, not the truck.
Anyway, I'm looking to have a hidden switch to disable the ignition and am looking for recommendations. On some cars you can ground the tach lead, etc. Something like this should work fine.
Any thoughts, anyone?
Thanks!

Message: You could probably install an on/off switch for the fuel pump. You could also remove the fuse for the ignition. If your into racing at the track, the cut off switch thats required for fast cars might be a good idea.
Glad to hear they didn't get it, My sister had her car stolen from a mall last month.

Message: Thanks, that's now what I'm thinking.
I just tonight got ahold of a new ignition switch, got it installed, turned the key and nothing. It took me more than a few minutes, much to my chagrin, to think to check the fuses.
I'm thinking that I may find some way to put a kill through the ignition fuse, maybe the fuel pump too, using relays with a hidden switch.
Thanks for your suggestion!
