Message: Do high performance cats actually improve your gas mileage and hp and do they actually flow better then stock? I am thinking of replacing my stock cat it has 97700miles on it and it is original.

Message: Yes, but I installed headers, highflow cat, and muffler all at once. So I can't really say if the cat swap alone did much, but I know for sure it flows better then stock, so it has to help out.

Message: I went with Carsound (www.magnaflow.com) and have not had any problems. Purchased it at a local shop and it cost me $125 installed.

Message: I did it in my 97 with a 318. I noticed more horsepower. Not a whole lot, but enough to notice it. I bought mine from jegs.com. I can't remember the brand at the moment, but I believe that they only have one brand of high flow. Costed me about $120 before tax. I can't say that I noticed an increase in mpg though. Oh, your exhaust will be louder.
