Hi everyone,
I need a little help. I've got a 1997 Dakota with a 3.9, it's been having lots of little problems like the wipers not turning off, cruise not working, etc.
It was diagnosed as having a bad Body Control Module or BCM. The problem is the mechanic that diagnosed has quit that shop and nobody else seems to know where the BCM is located. I'd like to be able to swap it with a used one from a junkyard but that's tough when I can't even find it. Half the mechanics haven't heard of a BCM and the half that have say it's located on the passenger side front fender well. I've found the computer located in that spot and it's the PCM, not the BCM so that doesn't help me much.
Any ideas would be much appreciated, thanks!

i hate to tell you this but your DAK does not have a Body Control Module. if you are having trouble with the wipers and the cruise, check the clockspring or the Multifunction switch.

on my 99 dak I have a control box on the passenger side console under the glove box .... know if its the same on a 97 ...

i have a 1997 dodge dakota,5.9ltr,it has a box on the passenger side under the glove box, i was wondering if its the control module?
Also ALL the gauges like the speedometer, gas gauge, etc. do not work the only thing that do work is the dash lights, none of the warning lights works like the engine etc., they should come on for a second or so when key is turned forward, the signal lights work as well, can some one tell me whats wrong and the price of the box?

my 1997 dak check engine light on am told need a new computer , engine revvs when startingand idles fast about ii00 where is the computer located need serial or model number
