Message: dont know if i told anyone about my tranny taking a huge crap on me. well it did a couple months ago and only now it is getting fixed. the tranny pump went out and it doesnt shift into gears, obviously.the thing was making a knock noise like a nasty engine knock. some of my friedns thought it was either that or a loose pressure plate bolt. well, when i started the engine, the noise stopped and the engine was still running but the truck wouldnt shift. . . u get the idea. so, w/ a lil help from pops, its getting rebuilt to the CHEAP tune of $1200. most others wanted $1500 or $$$2700!!!apparently these are very difficult to remove transmissions, so they cost extra. i trust these guys, as they are the shop my frind, who also owns a shop, send his tranny jobs to; personal and business. after that, im trading it and my POS ford tempo AWD for a nice commuter car (actually, a 94-96 monte carlo or grand am/prix, malibu or cavalier). i have to save on gas and i dont have much $$$.

Message: you can get a brand new tranny from Autozone for $1200- not installed of course. Sounds like a decent deal.

Message: well, turns out the pump and the torque convertor went south. they arent sure which went first. the dude showed me the convcerter, and pointed out the shaft the pump sits on was ripped away for the most part. he said either the pump went out and took out the converter, or the converter went and caught the pump. so. all in all. thats it. later, i have to pick it up.
thanx, c-ya
